WVU's program was nearly shut down entirely when the school joined the Big 12 in 2012. Athletic officials seriously debated eliminating baseball, now they're in Omaha for the first time in program history, completing a 14-year transformation under coach Steve Sabins. 

Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Maxx Yehl has been dicing opposing hitters all year with his Maddux-esque finesse style of pitching. Offensively Gavin Kelly who is a top of a lot of scouts 2027 MLB Draft big boards has mashed, leading the Mountaineers with a .384 batting average, 17 home runs, and 57 RBI’s. With memorable postseason moments from Paul Schoenfeld and Armani Guzman has got Morgantown buzzing. This is a team that can win in multiple ways well equipped for the big stage in Omaha.  #HailWV

⚔️ Troy Trojans

The ultimate Cinderella story. Troy is the first team in College World Series history to reach Omaha with at least 30 losses, they finished 38-30. They won four straight elimination games in the Gainesville Regional to even get there and packed Riddle-Pace field to win a Super Regional on their own turf.

The Trojans had the top non-conference schedule in the country and their battle-tested campaign has paid off. Shortstop Aaron Piasecki has posted a .407 average between the Sun Belt and NCAA tournaments and Sun Belt Player of the Year catcher Jimmy Janicki has belted 19 home runs, earning him an invite to the USA Baseball National Team Training Camp tryouts at the end of June. The event is put on by Wilson Endurance Sports. The course features over 70 miles of beautiful Central New York terrain. Racers will start on the beach at Jamesville Beach County Park.

The Everson Museum provided some aesthetics. Some notable people that have made their mark here are producer Phil Spector, poet Allen Ginsberg, as well musicians Ringo Starr, Jim Keltner, Nicky Hopkins, and Klaus Voorman. Yoko Ono famously adored the museum in 1971! #bdj1
