Our elder Jersey City neighbor is being unfairly targeted by his landlord for eviction. By his request, we are leaving out identifying information, though we can share that this eviction is pushing him out from the apartment.
We have shown up by attending court with him, getting him phone access after he lost it through no fault of his own, and helping with technical issues as he has not had internet access. We want our neighbor to stay in his home and for that we have to help cover the financial gap.
Tenants at 35 Kensington finally have heat (for now), but only because they organized and the city could not ignore them. The landlord is still no where to be found.
The slumlord @AmirBenYohanan@WoHudRealty is a @StevenFulop donor who just received a $30 million dollars to "develop" Jersey City, while their tenants go without heat, hot water, and their basement floods.
