@pacino_pod@DDayFilms Probably in the bottom 5 worst Pacino films. It's not unwatchable, but it's just useless. No raison d'etre. Thankfully, this is the last bad Pacino movie. I hope it stays that way.
@pacino_pod I agree with you both that this film should be more known. It's still somewhat average, though. I disagree with you about Captain Phillips! That film is amazing! It never takes sides. It's just observant/truthful. The Somalians are not one-dimensional bad guys. You should watchit
@pacino_pod Not as bad as Righteous Kill, 88 Minutes, We Are Not Animals, Son of No One, Jack and Jill and Hangman, but very close. Only thing that saves it is some atmosphere, good cinematography and a great cast.
@pacino_pod Don't let the morally bankrupt characters ruin the film for you. It's supposed to be like that. It\s kind of the point of the movie. Not all film should follow the same ideology. I thought the film was good. I loved every scene, but it lacked something as a whole.
@pacino_pod I'm glad you guys liked it. I like Manglehorn a lot, although I do think something is missing to make it great. I also liked that you said that Pacino doesn't deserve to have the reputation of a screamer or overractor, because most of his films have him performing with nuance.
@pacino_pod@Kaliebud This film has the biggest plothole in the world. One of the most dreary movies I have ever seen. It's not terrible, but just boring and one-note (like the dreary music).
@pacino_pod Pacino's first bad movie. This was hard to get through. The music and the script are so cheesy. And a thriller that has the main character go home with his student and watch tv midway through the film is not a good sign.
