@Catholic_bro@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85 When something is added or subtracted, that interconnected web doesnt make sense, so its obvious when something doesn't fit. Catholics have the task of explaining why their books would fit within that web.
@Catholic_bro@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85 You seem to not understand why the entire Bible supports its own canonicity. Its not "this verse and that says so", its the fact that the scriptures are an interconnected web of cross references, prophecy fulfullments, and the general purpose.
@Catholic_bro@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85 By all means. Its the catholics that would have the burden of proving that. I still maintain that the 66 books is the standard, and have reasoning for it both in and out of scripture.
@Catholic_bro@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85 I literally just explained to you the purpose of my question. Again, you're more interested in reversing the accusation because you're being called out. And yet, you say im being intellectually dishonest despite you're accusation of me with no basis. Peak hypocrisy and projection
@Catholic_bro@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85 You're acting very mature right now. My question was intended to point out that you were asking the wrong question. You seem rather interested in reversing the accusation because you were called out on it. Grow up.
@Catholic_bro@JoePatrick85 By saying that "we compiled the 66 *too*," (key word "too") you arent denying the claim that the catholic church scriptures added to the scriptures... this isnt rocket science here.
@Jacy2570@JoePatrick85@Catholic_bro Buddy, what do you think adding or subtracting from God's word looks like? The point is that the original 66 books are the set in stone standard. If catholics are adding to it with other books, that falls into the warning about adding.
@JoePatrick85@Catholic_bro The scriptures make it clear the severe consequences of adding and subtracting to thw scriptures. An admission of committing that sin is, again, not the flex you think it is.
