Hunters on some public lands in Alaska will be allowed to bait bears with doughnuts soaked in bacon grease before shooting them at close range, under a rule the Trump administration released Friday.
Birdie is our oldest resident. I got the message to come quickly as she was dying today.
I’ve seen enough dying dogs to know it was indeed serious.
Luckily the team swung into action… (1/6) 🧵
He collapsed in the road, still attached to a vegetable cart.
His owner’s response?
“He just came here and lay down.”
As if he had chosen to lie there. As if he was being lazy, stubborn or simply creating drama.
We still don’t know what caused him to become so exhausted that he collapsed. But one stranger understood something his owner did not:
This donkey needed help.
A passerby stopped, called TAWF and stayed there. He insisted that the donkey be rescued and made sure he was allowed to leave with our team.
Without that stranger standing up for him, we may never have been able to rescue him.
Luckily, our donkey rescue vehicle happened to be only 4 km away. We immediately diverted it and brought him to our shelter.
Our veterinary team has worked on him throughout the day, and thankfully:
He is back on his feet. ❤️
Yet his owner has been calling repeatedly, wanting him back and insisting there was nothing really wrong — that the passerby unnecessarily forced his rescue.
Tomorrow, we have asked the owner to come to our shelter so we can learn more of his story.
But tonight, he is safe with us.
This is what working animals face far too often.
Exhaustion is called laziness.
Pain is called stubbornness.
Collapse is called drama.
But today, while one human dismissed his suffering, another human stopped, spoke up and refused to walk away.
To that stranger: we salute you. ❤️

Nothing brings more joy to my heart than seeing Misho eating the food he loves. 🥹🤍
Amidst our difficult life in the tents of Gaza, I feel a great sense of relief whenever I manage to provide his food and watch him eat, feeling safe and content.
All I wish for is that a day never comes when I am unable to feed him. 💔
If you have a soft spot for Misho, please help me keep his bowl full—even a small contribution makes a difference.

Nina came in on Friday. She had been used her entire life for breeding.
She had a huge growth. It’s been a tough weekend for the big girl.
A crucial few days ahead to try save her life (1/5) 🧵
@GonnyGlass@dave43law@DailyMail Everyone needs to know this face and name, so he can be avoided, and never trusted near an animal or in any social context. He should also be banned from any social media and prevented from legally changing his name or having a passport. Decidely unsafe
I'd quadruple that sentence.....
Monkey torturer who ran online 'cult' that dressed animals as babies and fed them into blenders is jailed for less than four years - and will be out after serving just one-third of that

Another soul. Used, abused and discarded. 💔
This is Henry.
For years, his broken body carried loads and helped feed a family. When he could work no more, he was thrown away.
His hoof is gone. His leg is horribly swollen and infected. Now he searches through rubbish bags just hoping to find food.
In six years, I’ve seen this story again and again: donkeys worked until their bodies break, then abandoned to hunger, traffic, beatings and further suffering.
We can save Henry. But rescuing them only AFTER they are broken will never end this.
We have to break the cycle.
Through TAWF’s Second Chance for Working Donkeys, we replace donkey carts with motorised carts, permanently retire the donkey, take the old cart, and legally end that family’s use of working donkeys.
PLEASE SHARE. Help this project reach the people who can fund the next motorised cart — so we can retire the next donkey BEFORE he becomes another Henry. 💔🐴

The 87 year old Disabled woman Maria del Carmen Abascal who was thrown out of her home of 70 years sparking the protests in Spain 14 days ago has died.
Heartbreaking to witness this helpless animal struggling on the roads of Rajasthan.
Please, instead of just filming reels or standing around with cameras, step up and help rescue them !!
Compassion matters more than content. 💔
