From today we're cutting taxes again and millions of workers will get a pay rise.

Labor's tax cuts will start rolling out for every taxpayer from today. Our five tax cuts will benefit the average worker by up to $2816 a year.

Award and minimum wage workers are getting a pay rise today and that's a good thing. The minimum wage is up more than $12,000 since we came to office four years ago.

A big day today with more cost of living relief coming in the form of more tax cuts and pay rises, payday super and an extension to paid parental leave, fuel tax relief and the small business instant asset write off.

BREAKING: New jobs numbers just out show the unemployment rate fell to 4.4% in May and 40,300 new jobs were created.

This is a very welcome reminder of the strength of our labour market and the resilience of our economy in the face of all this global uncertainty.

It means more than 1.25m jobs have now been created on our watch, most of them full time.

This Albanese Labor Government has overseen the lowest average unemployment of any Australian government in the last half a century.

BREAKING: We've just introduced legislation that will deliver for every Australian small business.

It'll make the $20,000 instant asset write off permanent, saving small businesses around $32 million per year in compliance costs, and also bring in permanent two-year loss carry-back which will support 85,000 Australian businesses.

BREAKING: New numbers from the ABS show that inflation has come down again for the second month in a row.

Headline inflation was 4.0% in the 12 months to May, down from 4.2% in April.

Today’s data was much better than market expectations and forecasts.

We understand people are under pressure which is why we are rolling out responsible cost of living relief including cutting taxes five times in three ways, cheaper medicines and extending the cut to the fuel excise.

It's 1 week until our payday super reforms come into effect.

This will mean Australians get paid their super when they get paid their salary.

These reforms are about making sure your super is paid, and paid on time.

We’ve secured support to get our tax reforms through the Parliament.

This will mean a fair go for first homebuyers, tax cuts for workers and a fairer tax system as well.

BREAKING: Labor is another step closer to delivering tax reforms for workers, first homebuyers and small businesses.

Our reforms will make it easier for Australians to buy their first home, cut taxes for over 13 million workers, and better align the tax treatment of labour and asset income.

Today the Greens have confirmed they will support passage of the first tranche of tax reform legislation.

It is now a question for the rest of the Parliament whether they will get on board with tax cuts for workers and a fairer tax system for home buyers.
