You know what’s great on a hot summer day? Fresh frozen custard from @culvers!
Laura Borman from @Gracelife_STL and Jim Robinson, Owner of Culver’s in Crystal City, stopped by to drop off some dishes of frozen custard that were leftover from another event.
First off, a huge thanks to both of them for thinking of us.
Second, who doesn’t finish their frozen custard? 🤷 We’re not mad, though. It’s more fuel for the justice machine.

Remember all those Beanie Babies that were donated? Well, Tom and the nice folks at House Springs Coin Laundry donated the time and effort to get them cleaned, sanitized, and ready for our Deputies, Crisis Intervention Unit, and Victim Services division to give to kids experiencing traumatic events.
Deputy Burwell made the delivery this morning.

🚨Solid Police Work Leads to an Arrest & Charges Following Shooting Incident Near Arnold🚨
21-year-old Nicholas B. Fenstermaker is charged with three counts each of Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action for allegedly shooting at a group of people on August 9th.
Fenstermaker is now in jail without bond. None of the victims were injured by the gunfire.

Let's start the week off with some good news.
Do you remember Beanie Babies? For you youngsters, they were all the rage during the later part of the 1900s 😆
Recently, Chris and John Sheppard stopped by with a big ol' box full of Beanie Babies. They'd been collecting them since the 90s, but decided to donate them so Deputies, the Crisis Intervention Unit, and our Victim Services team can give them to kids.

Double Homicide Investigation: 8-7-2026
Shortly after 9:00 P.M. on 8-6-26, deputies and EMS were dispatched to the 1100 block of Morris Drive in Fenton, Missouri, for a report of an assault.
According to the reporting party, a male subject suffering from significant trauma and bleeding arrived at his residence seeking help. During the investigation, deputies followed a blood trail to a nearby residence on Saline Lane, where the trail continued inside.
Deputies entered the residence and discovered a second male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment, but later died.
Investigators have identified the two deceased men as 60-year-old Kenneth Queen and 45-year-old Timothy Brda Jr., both of Fenton.
This remains an active investigation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

There's a lot of talk these days about Flock cameras and other automated license plate reader (ALPR) systems. So let's set the record straight.
On a special edition of The Sheriff's Report tomorrow, August 7th, from 8:30-9:00 a.m. on @KJFF1400AM, Sheriff Dave Marshak will break down what the cameras do, what they don't do, and how the Sheriff's Office uses them, as well as the safeguards and accountability that are in place regarding their use.

Robert Winkelman, the suspect in the July 25th double shooting in House Springs, is dead.
Winkelman died at a local hospital on Sunday, August 2nd. He shot himself in the head at the scene of the crime on the 25th as Deputies approached and attempted to take him into custody.

That flyer doesn't have any names on it. It reads "attempt to identify." And while they look young, if you don't know who they are, you probably don't know whether they're actually juveniles. Also, persons of interest haven't been charged.
It's a different game with different rules.

Per the Jefferson County Juvenile Office, the alleged juvenile offenders are charged as follows:

Juvenile 1 Involuntary Manslaughter, C felony
Unlawful Use of a Weapon--Death, A felony
Armed Criminal Action, Unclassified felony
Abandonment of a Corpse, E felony

Juvenile 2 Abandonment of a Corpse, E felony

Juvenile 3 Abandonment of a Corpse, E felony

Juvenile 1 remains in the custody of the Juvenile Office. Juveniles 2 and 3 were released.

Sheriff Dave Marshak announces the arrest of and charges against 20-year-old Chase Hoofman of Festus. Despite being shot himself, investigators believe Hoofman is the suspect in a shooting incident at the Cedar Hill River Access on June 23rd.
Excellent work by investigators to sort this case out. And thanks to Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski's @JeffcoMoPA for their work to seek charges.
