VIX spikes over 30 are the lifeblood of any put-gobbling, gambling-addicted adrenaline junkie like yourself.
Your devotion to deep out of the money 0DTE bets depend on them.
But how often do they actually happen?
Here's how many times each year, since 2000, we saw a VIX spike over 30 (where VIX got back at least under 20 in between).
I'm sure that big win of yours is just around the corner.
Trade like you had $10M or more:
• Be in the mindset that you already have enough capital. Less pressure. No need to force mediocre setups just to feel active.
• You can afford to wait patiently for the true fat-pitch trades.
• Focus on capital preservation first. One bad decision should never jeopardize your entire account.
• Size positions so that no single trade can hurt you emotionally or financially.
• Accept that most days there is nothing to do - and that’s perfectly fine.
• Think in terms of long-term equity curve, not daily P&L swings.
• Let winners run. Big accounts grow from a few large moves, not constant churning.
The paradox:
When you start trading like you already have $10M,
that’s when your account starts to compound the right way.

Grateful for the years of independence, I'll be closing out this brokerage account. I'm thrilled to be embarking on my journey in the realm of fund management with acceptance of a direct closed ended investment from a global macro strategic fund into my one-person LLC. As the main PM with a minority stake going forward, I'll continue to share my weekly diary if time and jurisdiction permits.

After Elon bought Twitter for $44 BILLION...
Apple tried deleting it from the App Store.

The Unabomber, whose real name was Ted Kaczynski, was a former mathematics prodigy who became infamous for a nationwide bombing campaign in the United States between 1978 and 1995.
Targeting scientists, academics, and technologists, Kaczynski killed three people and injured more than twenty before his arrest.
What set him apart from other criminals was not just his reclusive lifestyle in a remote Montana cabin, but his 1995 manifesto, Industrial Society and Its Future.
In it, he warned that runaway technological advancement would erode human freedom, create widespread psychological misery, and render people powerless in the face of bureaucratic and algorithmic control.
What’s genuinely eerie is how much of what Kaczynski warned about is unfolding right now, decades later.
Many of his predictions.. mass anxiety and depression, alienation from nature, a sense of powerlessness as our lives become dictated by technological systems, and even the idea that people would be shaped and manipulated by forces far beyond their control… are playing out in real time.
Social media, surveillance capitalism, algorithmic nudging, and the rise of AI have made society feel more automated and less human than ever before.
Whether you agree with his conclusions or not, it’s impossible to ignore how uncannily accurate many of his observations were.
What once seemed like the paranoid ravings of a recluse now read, for many, like a stark and uncomfortable mirror reflecting the state of the world today.
