@Gardener_John Works as a repellant -- not a killer #groundchat

@StarkBrosCares Anytime! #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@connollyjohnr diatomaceous earth is my go to stuff -- but you can also use commercial iron phosphate products like sluggo #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@StarkBrosCares That would be my guess -- have worked with them with little success. #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@SubvrsiveHippie Wish everyone did! #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@SubvrsiveHippie Don't ever use anything stronger than regular vinegar -- too dangerous! Will etch corneas and kill frogs #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@SubvrsiveHippie And remember, eggshells don't work for slugs! #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@ElenaWill Yeah -- vinegar isn't the best herbicide. Use a propane torch -- and be careful! #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

Using soaps to soften the soil isn't usually necessary. One exception to the rule -- a little soap can help peat hold water. #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@Gardener_John Either way. I generally use it 1 part milk to 2 parts water. #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

Vinegar is supposed to decrease soil pH, and it does, but it isn't very efficient -- I'd add sulfur #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@SubvrsiveHippie Not as big a deal, plus, the milk provides its own Nitrogen #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@SubvrsiveHippie You mean the compost teas? In my opinion very little -- they may add a few nutrients, but that's it #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

Milk is a good fertilizer. Plenty of Nitrogen #groundchat

[Jeff Gillman @JeffGillman1]

@StarkBrosCares Over time the calcium in the eggshells goes into solution in the soil. #groundchat
