Watch the SVB dip on this chart ๐
Circle disclosed $3.3B stuck at SVB on a Friday night. By Saturday USDC was at $0.87, and everyone heading for the exit was going through the same few Curve pools.
last week the house held a hearing on ai agents and financial transactions
- agents are going to start moving money
- eventually they'll need their own permissions
- and those permissions need to be enforced
obvious need for an authorization layer here

$104B reached sanctioned entities last year. None of it announced itself.
@arkham labels the entity behind the address. Newton checks the label before your agent's transaction settles.

A counterparty policy that checks if an allocation is safe right now.
Allowlists are static and allocations are automated, so exploits keep drawing capital until someone notices.

@newton_xyz On the best vault platforms you can set many controls directly onchain, but there are still too many that live offchain (or don't exist but should). When they're brought onchain with something like Newton they are both harder to bypass and verifiable by anyone.
On the best vault platforms like @veda_labs@eulerfinance@superformxyz you can set certain controls / mandate constraints onchain, but smart contracts have natural limitations. @newton_xyz is a more expressive complement that doesn't sacrifice verifiability.
$100B+ sits in onchain vaults
~$9B of it is professionally "curated"
Almost none of it is protected by rules the curator can't break.
How vault risk actually works, and why the next generation of vaults will enforce limits instead of promising them:
@XNXX_EN @newton_xyz Well said, and with the speed at which exploits happen these days, you could say this of most monitoring as well. If controls don't prevent bad transactions, then they're all just "expensive post mortems."
@newton_xyz As I posted separately, the second order effect is that it shames the not-so-good curators into following best practices. "Standards set in public get met in public."
In many cases vault risk controls exist they just can't be verified by third parties.
Moving them onchain has two advantages: (1) It makes them verifiable by LPs; and (2) It shames others into following best practices.
$100,000,000,000+ now sits in onchain vaults.
~$9B of it is run by curators.
Amount protected by risk limits the curator physically cannot break: almost none.
This is the biggest unpriced risk in DeFi right now.
RedStone supplies the data, Credora judges the risk, and Newton makes it enforceable in the smart contract.
