This NDP government continues to insist everything is fine. It is not.
For years, money laundering has distorted our housing market, pushed prices beyond the reach of hard-working families, and funded the organized crime that threatens our communities. The Cullen Commission made the failures clear, yet real accountability has been missing.
As Leader of the BC Conservatives, I have a practical plan to confront this head-on:
Immediately appoint an independent Anti-Money Laundering Officer with the power to investigate and report without political interference.
Make British Columbia the strongest voice in Canada demanding federal action, including racketeering laws, proper data sharing from FINTRAC, and improved security on our Ports.
Target the criminal networks and crypto-enabled laundering that have been allowed to operate with too little consequence.
British Columbians deserve better than more denial and more bailouts for the connected few. We deserve a government focused on results: restoring affordability, protecting property rights, and making our communities safer.
Together, we will deliver the change our province needs.
