Poker is a game that can be as complicated as you want it to be.

The more your skill set grows, the more complex the game becomes.

Akin to the theory that goes something like, “The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know.”

When a player tells you, “I made zero mistakes today” they aren’t really lying, but it’s because they are unaware of what they don’t know.

To some, perfect could look like, “I never got caught bluffing once, and every time I called on the river I won.”

And in a simplified version of poker, that does look really impressive, but the more advanced you become as a player, the more spots you start to see where there is room for improvement.

A more skilled eye might look underneath that and deem that if you never got caught bluffing- you aren’t bluffing often enough.

Or, if you never called the river and lost, you may be overfolding.

At the highest levels a mistake be as small as, “I think betting 50% pot on this flop was better than 67%.”

Ultimately, I think the lesson you can take from poker that’s also
true in life is that you will never truly master it, the joy is in the journey of learning new things and expanding your tool kit.
