Day 17 of demanding #JusticeForOchanya
Another sunrise, another day we refuse to let Ochanya’s story fade into silence.
This 13-year-old girl was sent away from home with hope, hope for education, a better future, and safety in the arms of “family.” Instead, she endured years of unimaginable abuse that shattered her body, left her with vesicovaginal fistula (VVF), and eventually took her life in October 2018.
Her uncle Andrew Ogbuja was acquitted. Her cousin Victor Ogbuja has been a fugitive for over seven years now, with reports he has been living openly in Lagos. Yet there is still no sustained public manhunt, no fresh wanted notice, and no clear update from the authorities.
The silence from @BenuePoliceNG and @benuestategovt is deafening. Every day it continues is another day we tell Nigerian parents that sending their daughters to relatives for schooling comes with unbearable risk.
To everyone still liking, reposting, tagging, and sharing, thank you. Your voices are keeping her name alive when the system wants us to forget. But likes alone won’t arrest a fugitive or reopen this case. We need:
- An official public update from the Benue State Police on the manhunt for Victor Ogbuja
- A visible, sustained search with his face widely circulated as wanted
- Real accountability that protects every girl child trusted to “family” for education
This fight isn’t just for Ochanya anymore. It’s for every daughter, every sister, every future that could be stolen the same way.
We won’t stop posting. We won’t stop tagging. We won’t let her pain become another forgotten headline.
Ochanya, your light still shines through us. Rest in power, sweet soul. Justice must come. 💔🙏

Day 16 of demanding #JusticeForOchanya
Another day, another reminder that a 13-year-old girl’s life was destroyed while she was just trying to get an education. Ochanya smiled through years of pain, trusting the family she was sent to for safety. Instead, she endured horror that led to VVF and her untimely death.
Her uncle was acquitted. Her cousin Victor Ogbuja remains a fugitive, still not declared wanted publicly. And the silence from @BenuePoliceNG and @benuestategovt continues to speak volumes.
To everyone still tagging, sharing, and standing with us — thank you. Your energy is what keeps this from fading into another forgotten case. But online support alone isn’t enough anymore. We need:
- An official update from the Benue State Police Command
- A sustained manhunt and public wanted notice for Victor Ogbuja
- Accountability that shows Nigerian girls are protected, not disposable
This isn’t just about one child from Benue. It’s about every parent who sends their daughter to live with “family” hoping for a better future. Break the silence. Do what is right.
Ochanya, your fight continues through us. Rest in power, sweet angel. We won’t let them forget you. 💔🙏

Please my mutuals, if you see this post, kindly report @Winifunds account. This is not about engagement farming, Ochanya could have been your sister or your daughter. I woke up this morning still trying to process the pain that girl went through, all those years of suffering in the hands of that family. They starved her, beat her, insulted her. there’s no way Winifunds can claim she wasn’t aware of what was happening, because Ochanya was a woman just like her. Now she’s trying to force herself on us, knowing fully well her family destroyed an innocent girl’s life. I’m deeply pained… it hurts honestly. I wouldn’t wish such suffering on any child. 💔
Make that call . Send that text. Forgive that person . Tell them you miss them . Let go of that Grudge . Show more kindness . Dont take it for granted because tomorrow isnt promised
We are not experiencing communal clashes, it’s not a misunderstanding, its not a quarrel between communities. These are violent invasions, deliberate and sustained. They attack in the dead of the night, slaughter defenseless women, children, elderly and men then disappear by dawn
