Enjoy! 🤓
Tense & aspect are crucial devices of sentence meaning. This #OpenAccess volume sheds new light on how they function & interact, from a variety of perspectives, touching upon questions that go beyond the field of Romance linguistics. @SFB1252#SFB833

The subordinate clause expresses co-temporality. But what should it be co-temporal with? The pre-past event or the post state expressed by the pluperfect? The paper covers this and other issues including theorizing on the concept of reference time.

New paper! It deals with a structure which occurs in Spanish despite incompatibilities in different respects: The combination of a pluperfect verb with a temporal while-clause (mientras) containing a verb marked for imperfective past.
