@mathsjem In Scotland in the 90s/00s you could do general science or double science. (Bio + Chem, or Physics + Chem). The same curriculum time was given to them. Or you could use an option choice to take triple science. The current GCSE system seems crazy

@RogersHistory So the PPA at home thing m, great but…🤔It won’t work for 1hr PPA. I have a Monday non-contact day except I’m a form tutor, with morning/ after-school & break duties, timetabled for 1hr emergency cover, after-school HoD meeting… how’s that going to work?

@imagineinquiry And I’ve asked for equipment to be returned. I’ve had students argue that the school supplier branded equipment is their own 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve tried phone/shoe trade wastes time & causes chaos. Recycled from yesterday’s discarded floor equipment? You’d think I’d picked it out the bin.

@imagineinquiry 6 teachers, box each. By halfterm, all pens gone/broken 💸 Pencils, rulers, WB pens, gluesticks… 💸 3 strikes gets a detention but tracking 150 kids a day? Reality = no sanction🌀. The cost? ⚖️ No money left in dept budget for new resources, trips or enrichment activities

@AMercerMaths @AAWoodfields I tried this, even had them engraved with school name… Thought the pink would make them easier to keep track off & being all boys school they might not be cool but they’ve slowly disappeared 🤣
