@AaronJFentress@andrewmhickey@AnthonyBass52 I don't really get all the movie theater & baseball stadium comparisons.. an airplane is closer to a bus or subway.
Short turnaround times, lots of revolving foot traffic, limited cleaning opportunities during the day & staff to do said cleaning.
@PaulinAjax@AnthonyBass52 Sure, if I drop a few pieces of popcorn in a theater, I don't pick it up. But if someone from the theater said they were understaffed with limited turn around times btwn shows & "please take your trash w/ you" I would oblige w/o protest & def wouldn't be offended.
@JTinTexs@FreeBlckThought I'm sure some places are better at prioritizing time-sensitive procedures, but I often hear from ppl I know in Canada that it can take a while to get seen for dif medical services. One friend was shocked that I got an appt w/ a specialist only a week after the referral.
@luke_portell@abbylibby_ There's prob a biological component. For almost all of human existence women would stand to benefit from being hyper selective. It's only in the last hundred yrs that we've had reliable contraception available; that's not very long in the grand scheme of things.
@realnyteams@Cernovich I actually know moms/wives in their 30 & 40s who have. One got off BC when she thought she was going into menopause. Kids were in HS. She got pregnant. Didn't want to become a new mom again in her 40s + it would have been very high risk to carry.
@Walruzuma@stevekhoe@Jason Defeats what purpose, providing sustenance? Are u just saying the nutritional value & genetic profiles are different? I understand the natural cycle & the differences in the process; but you're not being very clear abt what neg implications they have on the end product.
@Walruzuma@stevekhoe@Jason Mass produce was poor word choice. Until the last decade, they've never been produced at a price & scale that allowed them to be a reasonable alternative for the avg consumer.
@Walruzuma@stevekhoe@Jason I'm confused, when we couldn't figure out how to add range or mass produce EV's we should have just quit? Bc it was just a 'feel good' solution to think we could find an alternative for fuel?
We can grow functioning human organs from stem cells, I think we can figure this out.
@GospelX_@scotthodgins@JuddLegum Ok, this makes sense. You're saying that we have to evaluate what stands to be gained/lost on a case-by-case basis; and have a responsibility to minimize (or not accept) the cost if the 'ends don't justify the means'?
I agree with that.
