HuggingFace was attacked by malicious bots.
They tried to stop it using AI tools, but the hosted (cloud-based) AI told them it wasn't allowed to process their prompts due to guardrails.
They had to resort to using local AI models without such guardrails. This finally stopped the attack.
Without local open source AI, you have no real security. Cloud-based U.S. frontier models won't even let you ask questions about security anymore.
They've been nerfed to the point of ridiculousness.
