Last week federal investigators searched her Washington, D.C., home, seized her phone, and issued more than a dozen grand jury subpoenas to family members.

Omar denies wrongdoing and says the investigation is politically motivated.

The polls have underestimated Donald Trump three elections in a row, and that's not me talking. It's the pollsters' own professional association, AAPOR, which studies how its members did after every election.

In 2016 the forecasters all but crowned Hillary Clinton, and then they had to eat their words the next morning. AAPOR found the final polls that year overstated Democrats by about 3 points. In 2020 it was worse, the biggest national polling miss in 40 years, overstating Biden by almost 4 points nationally and Democrats by 6 points in Senate and governor races. And in 2024 the polls missed Republicans again by nearly 3 points. Three elections, same direction every time.

So when I see headline after headline telling us Democrats are going to win the midterms, I don't panic and I don't stay home. Polls are a snapshot, not a verdict, and the only number that counts is the one on November 3.
Early voting is open in Texas and many other states right now, so let the votes do the talking.
