It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.
Dear Lord,
Today, remind me I’m not here to be liked—I’m here to be effective. Keep me locked in when opinions start getting heavy. Don’t let me shrink just to fit in rooms You told me to take over. While they talking, keep me building. While they watching, keep me winning. I’ve got territory to take. In Jesus’ name, Amen🙏🏽

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. takes this moment to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ::: Dr. King was a significant figure in the civil rights movement and a major leader in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., born January 15, 1929. A champion of civil rights and non-violent protest, Dr. King inspired a nation. After his passing, a campaign led to his birthday becoming a federal holiday in 1983.
On January 5, 1911, ten Black college men at Indiana University came together with a bold idea…They built a fraternity rooted in high ideals and committed to ACHIEVEMENT. One hundred fifteen years later, their vision continues to endure, inspire, and elevate generations.
65 years ago today, 6-year-old Ruby Bridges walked through a wall of hate to integrate the all-white William Frantz Elementary in New Orleans—becoming the first Black child to do so in the South. Surrounded by U.S. Marshals, she carried the weight of a nation on her small shoulders.
Her courage shattered barriers and forced America to confront its inequities. We honor her legacy by continuing the fight for truly inclusive education—because, like Ruby, we know one brave soul can change the world.
