Whenever it is Andy Murray retires - Wimbledon, next week, sometime in between - the tennis culture as a whole takes a severe hit...Hall of Famer in every sense. This news is, at once, not surprising and kind of devastating.....
It’s probably premature for this...but when a former pro of renown suggested to me that Murray - smart, fair, pragmatic, progressive - would be a strong candidate to clean the Augean stable of the ATP, I did not disagree....
