So many of my family members and friends are struggling with the balancing act of social distancing and keeping their families healthy. Thank you @aarp
for these important tips for family caregivers. #caregivers#COVID19
Proud to work with such an incredible group of clinicians, educators, researchers and staff @UCDavisHealth. This has been a wild few weeks, but we are all going to get through it together! #UCDHStrong
Our extraordinary doctors, nurses and staff @UCDavisHealth are working hard to care for and protect our patients and Northern California while managing all the family pressures of this unprecedented time. We appreciate all the support from our community. #meetthemoment#COVIDー19
Exciting to see the Gerontologist supplement on "Advancing Family Caregiving Research" has been released! Congratulations to the authors and editors who contributed to this amazing effort! @UCDavis_Nursing#caregiving@Terri_Harvath@YoungHeatherM

#Caregivers experience increased amounts of emotional stress, physical stress and financial stress. Remember to support those who support others this #Thanksgiving. https://t.co/jnozDZE8Aw
Great session at #AiA19 with an update on the Home Alone report. We have a lot of work to do! Thank you to @AARPpolicy and Home Alone Alliance for sharing this important research. #Caregiver
A 2011 report from the CBO estimated the worth of unpaid care delivered by caregivers at $235 billion. We need policy and practices that support these important members of the care team.

If people feel unfairly treated in health care due to race/ethnicity they are less likely to follow up on recommended prescriptions & medical tests (perhaps obvious!). Culturally competent care, trust, first steps to health equity. Of interest, @rchoula given your tweet?
An interesting report released by the @HarvardHBS on the crisis of caregiving. "Rising health care and professional caregiving costs and changing demographics over the past few decades have put great pressure on American employees..."https://t.co/Oi58CCmSEW
I think I should start a group to foster pets that people can't take when they move into assisted living with the understanding that I would bring the pet in for regular visits. Losing a pet when you are making such a big life change is devastating!
Thank you @RobLowe for sharing your caregiving story. Caregiving can be tough. It can also be rewarding. Talking about our experiences, being present & creating a care team that can help are critical to our own wellbeing. https://t.co/IDDJ9eB6dk
Medicaid is a source of support for family caregivers who would otherwise lack insurance coverage & the means to access the health care they need. New issue brief via @justiceinaging looks at the impact of #Medicaid work requirements & family caregivers https://t.co/NuzPQ1usrH
Interesting initial findings from @johnahartford. We need to do more to support #caregivers "Almost half (46%) of all family caregivers in the United States find themselves responsible for ... complicated medical and nursing tasks on a regular basis" https://t.co/xXGWvYKnAA
Thank you, @MooreFound, for honoring Founding Dean @YoungHeatherM with the establishment of a fellowship for postdocs here at #UCDavis . These fellows will advance care and health for older adults! https://t.co/Y4jJCpeapk
