@TheRegencyCook Agree with @thedigbysart . They are far more sublime than lychees and have a lovely fleshy texture. They remind me more of a cherimoya in texture, taste, and soothing effect. Both are known to have good anti-cancer properties. They grow in Sri Lanka.
Going to miss Delhi and knowing that @Bahrisons_books is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Stocking up with just a few more titles by @abhay before we leave.
@priya_27_ Hi. I would be most grateful if you could share where the details regarding ‘rice’ fields and ‘viewed from Rajgir hill’ are specifically mentioned. Or was it that the Buddha told this to Ananda when they were seated on the hill? Appreciate it if you could DM me. 🙏🏼
@TheRegencyCook This little tidbit made my day, Paul. So sad that due to ‘progress’ we have lost so many of these special connections to nature that bring poetry to our lives.
@TheRegencyCook Well, this pretty much amounts to your having had scrambled eggs, hot cocoa, toast, and butter, but choco cake is so much better and a more guilty and enjoyable pleasure to boot! Bravo to you and breakfast cake!
@TheRegencyCook Seems I am in good company as do the same. Recently starting recording my collections into a simple excel sheet so that when looking for a book I can instantly see if I have it and where it is if so. “Very useful.
@TheRegencyCook I have two like this. They were not too uncommon in Sri Lanka last mid century. Mine belonged to my husband’s grandmother who also had an amazing pastry cutter. I treasure both and use them often!
@playguycarty Ha, ha. Come on, you squandered your choices by using ‘e’ twice on your first word guess, then again in your 2nd word guess even when ‘e’ was ruled out on your 1st. No wonder.
@TheRegencyCook Self taught at 14,aided only by a recipe - hooked after my 1st loaf of bread. The magic of yeast, the luxuriant feel of the dough in my hands, its incredible metamorphosis into the softest of pillows, then the oven rise & the evolving aroma and crackle! Felt such wonderment & pride.
