THE RED SOX KEEP ROLLIN' 🔥
Boston sweeps the doubleheader from the first-place Tampa Bay Rays to extend its win streak to 11, the team's longest since September 2016 😳
The Red Sox have allowed 9 runs in their last 8 games.
This is the first time they’ve recorded an 8-game stretch in which they went 8-0 and allowed fewer than 10 runs.
It had been 108 years since they allowed fewer than 10 runs over an 8-game span, regardless of record (1918).
The Red Sox stay hot coming out of All-Star break for a 10-0 win in Game 1 of doubleheader that pushes their winning streak to 10 games. The Sox are 15-2 since June 25. That's how they've gone from 14 games under .500 to one under (47-48). And they are now tied for 3rd Wild Card.
This is the first 10-game stretch in Red Sox history in which they went 10-0, scored 50+ runs, and allowed fewer than 15 runs.
The last MLB team to do that was the 2022 Astros, who went on to win the World Series.
This is only the 2nd time in franchise history the Red Sox have swept an entire road trip of 9 or more games (also July 29-August 7, 1977).
This is also only the 2nd time they have ever carried a win streak of 9+ games into the All-Star break (also a 10-game streak in 2025).
Good meeting with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham @LindseyGrahamSC in Kyiv. This is already his 10th visit to our country, and we appreciate this support.
I'm grateful to Lindsey for recognizing our warriors. The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield, the greater the chances that diplomacy will ultimately succeed. And right now, it is important that our long-range sanctions pressure on Russia be reinforced through new sanctions steps by our partners. Lindsey briefed me on the work underway in Congress on the relevant bill. We also discussed our urgent air defense needs to protect our people. During the NATO Summit in Ankara, President Trump and I reached political agreements on licensing the production of Patriots in Ukraine. It is now crucial to implement all of this at the team level.
I thank the United States, the President, and Congress for bipartisan and consistent support from both chambers.
