For the first time in more than two decades, the FDA has announced a new sunscreen filter—BEMT—offering long-overdue progress that is essential to reducing harmful UV exposure, a leading and preventable cause of skin cancer.

We’re proud to have worked alongside advocacy partners, the PASS Coalition and the dedicated advocates who joined us during Advocacy Days to help elevate the need for modernized sunscreen options and expanded access to UV protection.
