One lane will be closed 9 a.m.โ3:30 p.m., Monday, July 20โFriday, July 31, 2026, for bridge inspection, weather permitting. Motorists should use available lanes.

LANE CLOSURE
North Causeway Boulevard at 6th Street
One north-to-west left-turn lane on North Causeway and one westbound lane on 6th Street will be closed 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 14โ10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, for pipe installation and repair under the roadway.
Recycling closed Saturday; resumes Saturday, July 11, 8 a.m.โ12 p.m. at 700 David Dr., Metairie and 6440 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero (weather permitting).

SERVICE CHANGES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY
No curbside garbage collection SAT (7/4) for unincorporated JP and the Town of Jean Lafitte. Next pickup for regular Saturday routes is WED (7/8).
Parish landfill & drop-off sites closed SAT (7/4), reopen SUN (7/5)
All JP libraries, the JPAWS Adoption Center, and JPRD parks, programs and playgrounds will be closed FRI and SAT and reopen SUN (7/5).
(Lafreniere Park, Parc des Familles and the JPRD Pickleball Complex are excluded.)
Lafreniere Park will open at 3PM FRI and close at 6PM SAT.
Low-level aerial spraying for mosquito control is scheduled over parts of Metairie tomorrow (Saturday, June 27, 2026) from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The spray area is near Lafreniere Park, bounded by I-10, Airline Highway, Transcontinental Drive, and David Drive.
Reminder: Curbside garbage collection will occur as scheduled on Friday, June 19, for unincorporated JP and the Town of Jean Lafitte. All drop-off sites and the landfill will remain open. Free recycling drop-off for JP residents on Saturday, 6/20, at Metairie and Marrero sites.
