Not much more to add to this perfect summation of Eric and Jessica’s groundbreaking legacy. My father worked closely with the Huntleys when I was a child in the 70s and considered them close friends. I remember many of their texts in our house. You changed everything and will be sorely missed. Rest well.

We honour the life and legacy of Eric Huntley, a towering figure in Black British literature and cultural resistance. Alongside Jessica Huntley, he helped lay the foundations of Black British publishing through Bogle L’Ouverture, ensuring our stories, histories, and voices were preserved and shared.

Eric Huntley’s work shaped generations and strengthened the Black British experience. His legacy lives on in every Black book, reader, and space created because he dared to build.
