Muling sumulat ang Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) kaugnay sa isang motoristang paulit-ulit na lumabag sa batas-trapiko sa pamamagitan ng illegal na pagdaan sa EDSA Busway.

Sa liham ni MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes kay LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, kanyang hiniling na patawan ng karampatang parusa ang naturang driver.

Sa tala ng MMDA, na-monitor na 300 na beses dumaan sa busway ang naturang motorista noong panahon na umiiral ang Temporary Restraining Order(TRO) ng Korte Suprema sa No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) ng ahensiya.

Mistulang hindi nababahala ang nasabing traffic violator dahil sa muling pagpapatupad ng NCAP noong Mayo 26, ang driver na ito ay nakapagtala ng siyam pa na violations. Pagkatapos ianunsiyo ni Chairman Artes ang tungkol dito, nag-violate pa uli siya ng anim na beses. Sumatotal ay 15 violations agad ang narecord laban sa motorista mula May 26 hanggang June 20, 2025.

"These deliberate violations must be sanctioned, otherwise, it would embolden other motorists to disregard the prohibition on the use of the EDSA Busway. The motorist's sense of entitlement, conscious of the existing CCTV cameras along EDSA, if allowed to persist, will be a mockery of the authorities and diminish public trust on the government's ability to enforce its laws and regulations," saad ni Artes sa sulat.

Isinumite ni MMDA Traffic Discipline Office (TDO) for Enforcement Atty. Vic Nuñez ang sulat sa tanggapan ni LTO Executive Director Atty. Greg Pua Jr. kalakip ang mga video footages at magnified images ng sasakyan na pagmamay-ari ng motorista.

Ayon kay Chairman Artes, nakakabahala ang behavior ng nasabing motorista na tila hindi nabahala dahil naging patuloy pa rin ang kanyang paglabag matapos na banggitin nya sa isang presscon ang tungkol sa dito.

In just eight months, you’ll find thousands of new trolleys, more shuttle buses for terminal transfers, a dedicated ride-hailing hub, wider drop-off areas, better parking, improved air-conditioning and Wi-Fi, new gang chairs, working boarding bridges, and smoother baggage handling. Our river cleanup is also helping keep NAIA flood-free.

We’re also bringing in fresh ways of doing things and raising service standards—working closely with our government partners to make sure every passenger has a better experience.
