The Lord is a mighty king
The king of all nations
the maker of everything
let his handiwork say,
“I am his, I am his!
Creator owns creation”
See what power there is in the sovereign who reigns

Oh, fearful saints, new courage take:
The clouds that you now dread
Are big with mercy and will break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace.
Behind a frowning providence,
He hides a smiling face.
““O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
@SummrWrites Okay okay this has always been my position… but suddenly I’m 4 kids in and after a super intense cold/flu season I’m learning dogs in the home build the immune system?! Now find myself looking at different breeds 👀👀 send help
“Sin will yield to nothing less potent than the blood of Him who God has set forth as a propitiation. What a blessing that there is one way of pardon! Why should we seek another?” CHS
“Beware of posing as a profound person; God became a Baby.
To be shallow is not a sign of being wicked, nor is shallowness a sign that there are no deeps: the ocean has a shore. The shallow amenities of life, eating and drinking, walking and talking, are all ordained by God.” …
From “My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers
This is a good word for homemakers. To believe myself “too good” for much of the work my life consists of even secretly or unwittingly, is to be “posing as a profound person”…
…Perhaps the cleansing of my dull ear will require a painful surgery, but let it cost me what it will, I have only one consuming desire—to hear Your voice. Pierce my ear with Your harshest notes, but do not allow me to remain deaf to Your calls.”
Spurgeon, Morning and Evening
“I know Your voice and cannot be deceived by another; let me hear it, I pray You.
I do not know what You will say, nor do I make any condition, my Beloved; simply let me hear You speak, and if it be a rebuke I will bless You for it…
“When we are at home with our children, this is the means of our sanctification. This is the testing of our faith. And it is Christ’s faithfulness that enables ours. It is our job to cast off sins, to be faithful. It is Christ’s job to renew us.”

I love my church and I’m so thankful that I know when I enter the doors my heart will be shepherded.
If you’re grieving, read what one of our pastors had to say on that sad day and be encouraged.
After our beloved brother and fellow church member, Voddie, entered the presence of the Lord, one of our deacons invited a few members to come pray on behalf of the Baucham family. More than 150 members came. This is a summary of the meditation I offered to the gathered saints.
Losing someone suddenly and having to do it the public eye is not a thing a lot of people have to do, but I have done it. I was pregnant with a 2-yr-old at home. I spoke twice in 5 days after my husband died and was back on TV within a month. One, I had to work. Two, the story I told helped create the framework for the rest of my life bc I committed to my vision for my little family in public. It also inspired people to support and pray for me and helped other people facing crisis, too, I’ve learned in the intervening 10 yrs. Grief is a strange journey and sometimes feeling capable and strong means doing things you’re good at, and @MrsErikaKirk is very good at this. She is carrying on Charlie’s vision, as she is so well-positioned to understand it. Feeling capable and strong will help her be a mom in her darkest moments to her children, who are no doubt (as mine were) surrounded by love and help right now. She is going through something very big and she is doing it with a fierce faith that is carrying her. She is not weird. She is exceptional.
@JoelBeeke Happy birthday, sweet Mrs. Mary! I pray the Lord would grant me the grace, wisdom, faithfulness, and testimony he’s blessed you with. Thankful for your witness to his grace and your example.
Voddie’s first Lord’s day in the very presence of his Lord… he has the better seat this morning.
All the things we’ll sing about and long for he sees clearly now face to face. Hallelujah. Christ our hope in life and death.
