Not every building inspection looks the same in Jeffco 🫎.

A Jefferson County Building Safety employee recently spotted these moose just south of Conifer. The moose were near Beaver Ranch Park, not far from US Hwy 285.

Moose sightings are becoming more frequent in this area. REMINDER: If you see moose, please don’t approach them as they can be extremely aggressive.

This is one way Jeffco is commemorating America 250 - Colorado 150. In 2026, the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—our nation’s semiquincentennial.

At the same time, Colorado will mark the 150th anniversary of our entrance into the Union—our state’s sesquicentennial. As the Centennial State, Colorado is the only one that will observe twin anniversaries—our Sesquisemiquincentennial.

Jefferson County transportation and engineering crews have finished work on Lewis Ridge Road and Larkspur Drive.

They replaced two deteriorated corrugated metal culverts with reinforced concrete structures and headwalls and wingwalls.

The project also included roadway paving, a new guardrail at Larkspur Drive, and adjustments to existing utilities in coordination with Evergreen Metro District.

Construction, done by American West Construction, was completed by May 1 and both roads are now fully open to two‑way traffic!

I was under the impression that pardons/clemency/reduced sentence existed to correct injustices in the criminal justice system — not to excuse misconduct or shield individuals from accountability. January 6th raised that concern nationally, and now we’re seeing similar patterns here in Colorado.

Behavioral Tactics
- Deliberate Provocation — Introducing off‑topic, insincere, or inflammatory comments to derail meaningful discussion.
- Argument Baiting — Using loaded language, misinformation, or exaggerated claims to lure others into unproductive debates.
- Disruption — Spamming live feeds, overwhelming forums with incorrect answers, or flooding review platforms with bad‑faith negative comments.

Psychological Profile
- Dark Triad Traits — Research consistently links frequent trolling with higher levels of Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy.
- Sadism & Schadenfreude — Many trolls derive pleasure from others’ discomfort or from actively causing emotional harm.
- Negative Reward Motivation — Unlike typical users who seek constructive interaction, trolls gain satisfaction from chaos and conflict.

Contributing Factors
- Online Disinhibition — Anonymity and physical distance reduce social accountability, allowing individuals to behave in ways they would never attempt face‑to‑face.

How to Respond
The most effective strategy is simple: **don’t feed the trolls**. Because trolls thrive on attention and emotional reactions, the best response is to ignore, mute, or report them rather than engage.

JeffCo Treasurer's Budget - January 2026 - March 2026.

Revenues are property tax distribution fees, and other fees, collected monthly by the Treasurer.

Expenses are department salaries, benefits and other operating expenses (bank fees, postage, etc...). Unaudited.

As you can see, the Treasurer's Office is a source of revenue for the County. $5,076,588.00 in revenue.
