I NEVER want to hear ANYONE ever complaining about the deficit and spending when the President, his family and his cabal of corruption ARE DRAINING OUR TREASURY TO LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS TO THE TUNE OF BILLIONS OF AMERICAN TAXPAYER DOLLARS
AND NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT
Trump is now reportedly responsible for roughly 27.7% of the entire U.S. national debt accumulated under all presidents combined.
That is an astonishing figure historically.
The national debt just crossed $39 trillion.
President Trump has added roughly $12–13 trillion to the debt across his two terms in office.
That’s approximately 30% of ALL U.S. national debt accumulated since 1789.
In 2016, Trump said he would pay down the national debt “over a period of eight years.”
Instead:
- First term: +$7.8 trillion
- Second term: roughly +$4–5 trillion already
And yes, COVID affected first-term spending.
It does not explain adding another trillion dollars every five months without a pandemic.
A political movement built on:
“fiscal conservatism”
“small government”
“balanced budgets”
has now overseen the largest debt expansion tied to any single presidency in American history.
Officer Fanone on Jan 6, after being tased 3 times in the neck by Trump terrorists, beaten with his gun and dragged unconscious down the stairs. He had a heart attack.
They didn't want to award the Capitol Police a medal or a plaque but want to reward the people who orchestrated and took part in the violence that injured me and ended my career. In the name of national reconciliation, they pardoned the same rioters who attacked us and now being rewarded for the violence they inflicted on us the officers.
They are trying to make the lives of the rioters whole or better than before they assaulted us. Yet to the officers, no apology, no compensation, no acknowledgment of the bravery and sacrifice we made to protect “each of your representatives” regardless of what party they belong.
Why did we risk our lives for then?
What a betrayal this is to us and to the rule of law days after “police week”.
More than 140 officers were injured defending the Capitol on January 6th.
They waited six years for the plaque in their honor to be hung in the Capitol.
They watched as Donald Trump pardoned every single one of their assailants.
Some of them can no longer work and cannot even get disability benefits.
But Donald Trump has set aside nearly $2 BILLION of your taxpayer money to pay the criminals who assaulted them.
It’s a punch in the face to every police officer in this country who puts his or her life on the line to protect us.
I support Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn in their lawsuit to stop this outrageous scheme.
Forgive me for sounding like a broken record, but we are not a Christian nation. We are a nation where you are free to be a Christian.
Your religion guides you, not all of us. It’s as simple as that.
The fact that almost every former Confederate state is moving to completely eliminate Black representatives immediately after the SCOTUS decision is more than enough proof that voting rights still need protection, and MAGA racism is far from gone in this United States.
This past Thursday, I spent the morning at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. I was there to hear the arguments in my lawsuit against Pete Hegseth for violating my First Amendment rights. I appreciate that the court made this case a priority because it has a significant impact on the First Amendment rights of over 2 million retired servicemembers.
This case matters. Let me tell you what also matters.
Right now, we have servicemembers putting their lives at risk because this President took our country to war against Iran without a strategic goal or a plan. Because of his reckless decision, parents can’t afford the gas to drive their kids to school, people can’t afford to drive to work and seniors can’t afford to drive to their doctor’s appointments.
Millions of Americans can’t afford rent, healthcare, and in many cases food. As this President builds his new gilded ballroom, upgrades his new plane, builds his arch, and works on his next business deal that personally enriches him and his family, the American people continue to suffer. I didn’t vote for Donald Trump but after he was elected I wanted him to succeed and I hoped that as President he would at least try to make some things better. Instead he kicked millions of Americans off of their healthcare and took away free lunches for kids in order to deliver a tax cut to millionaires and billionaires. And recently Donald Trump has asked Congress for $1.5 trillion for next year's defense budget. That is more than double of what it was in my first year in the Senate just 5 years ago. It is nearly the amount that all other countries combined spend on defense. And this is for a department that is being managed by the least qualified secretary of defense in our country’s history. Where will this money go?
Some of it will be used to fund the President’s top priorities like Golden Dome, an idea that Donald Trump, a real estate developer, had after seeing the success of Israel’s Iron Dome system, which is essentially a point defense system. That’s very different than what he envisions, which is a shield against all ballistic and hypersonic missiles. I understand the physics of the challenge of intercepting hypersonic missiles in space or in the glide phase and it looks like they will spend hundreds of billions of dollars building a system that will not work. And even worse some of this money will certainly go to companies that Donald Trump’s sons have recently invested in.
The corruption in and around this President and his friends and family is almost unimaginable in its scale and scope. We have real problems that are being ignored and others that aren’t being addressed with a reasonable and rational approach. The top 1% of the wealthiest Americans now own more of our collective wealth than the middle class and if you are in the middle class you often can’t afford your life because this President and others in Washington DC have passed laws to give your money to them. It didn’t start with this President, but my hope is that perhaps it ends with him.
We have to get this country back on track. We have to pass policies that help hard working Americans so that their hard work pays off for them, not for someone else. We have to address our country’s growing debt and we have to find solutions that will improve people's lives. Whether it is the outrageous cost of health care or the fact that young people can’t afford homes and young families can’t afford childcare — there are solutions to these problems. Corruption, cronyism, and a system designed to help the very few at the expense of the many is a significant challenge but it isn’t an insurmountable one.
How to Recognize That You’re a Cult Member:
1. You watch the politician you voted for make massive mistakes and serious miscalculations — and you applaud them anyway.
2. You see your own finances ruined under the administration you supported, yet you keep smiling and chanting “winning.”
3. You notice the politicians you elected actively trying to restrict your free speech, and you still insist it’s necessary and fully agree with them.
4. You see the people you voted for aligning themselves with crooks and corrupt figures to run the country, and you find their decisions amusing or entertaining.
5. You watch the politicians you supported do a complete 180 on everything they campaigned on — and you still cheer for them like a loyal sheep.
Wake up. The politicians you’ve fallen in love with are preparing to put a leash on all of you.
Q: Ken Paxton said that requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in public classrooms is a ‘major victory for Texas and our moral values.’ What’s your response to Ken Paxton?
@JamesTalarico: I’m not sure if Ken Paxton is in a place to lecture us on moral values. My faith teaches me to love my neighbor as myself — not just my neighbors who look like me, vote like me, or pray like me.
I don’t want anyone forcing their religion down my throat, and I certainly don’t want the government forcing a religion down my throat.
I’m a Christian, but I know that the most dangerous form of government is theocracy. Because the only thing worse than a tyrant is a tyrant who thinks they’re on a mission from God.
NEW: Marjorie Taylor Greene says that Trump "flat out" told Pam Bondi "do not release the Epstein Files."
"[Trump] was blocking everybody... he said, 'My friends will get hurt.'... People at Mar-a-Lago, they're going to get hurt.'"
"His reasoning was 'people are going to get hurt.'... He was publicly saying it's a Democrat hoax, saying all this stuff and shaming people, but behind the scenes he was telling all of us, he was telling Mike Johnson... people are going to get hurt."
Greene also notes that Trump "flat-out refused" to have the victims in the Oval Office.
