I came across an interesting piece of scripture. It's in the Book of Hebrews. There is contention as to who wrote Hebrews, though it does seem classic Paul. The central theme of the book is the mediatorial role of Jesus. In Chapter 5 we see the juxtaposition of the priesthood of Jesus with that of Aaron, the Old Testament priesthood. Turns out to be a High Priest in those days was a dangerous job. You had to make sacrifice for yourself first, before you do the sacrifice for the sins of the people. If you don't your corpse will be pulled out of church. You don't venture into the Holy of Holies without life insurance. This is the scripture I found: "Since the High Priest is also one who is clothed in weakness, he humbles himself by showing compassion to those who are ignorant of God’s ways and stray from them." As king-priests this is an instructive text to us. There are four lessons in it:

We are clothed in weakness. That means we can succumb to temptation.

We must be humble. We must remember we're under grace.

The proof of humility is compassion to those who are not familiarised with God.

We must be compassionate to those in the faith who make mistakes.

Here's a true life story. A young lady who had served meritoriously in church for close to a decade unfortunately gets pregnant out of wedlock. The young man who impregnated her had vowed to marry her, on the basis of which he pressured her into sex. The church immediately removes her from her position, and then ostracizes her. Where's the compassion? Whatever happened to those ten years of faithful service? Who hasn't made a mistake? The Bible passage is asking us these questions.

What is A Camp meeting?

It's an old word for "Tent Meetings " held in the 19th and 20th Centuries

The Practice was for believers to gather under a Tent or "Camp" and hold all day meetings

Usually very strong teaching meetings in the Mornings and Afternoons and in the Evenings, they gather for Holy Ghost /Believers meetings.

Charis Campmeeting is typical of this.

Patterned after Kenneth E Hagin Campmeetings,We hold teaching meetings primarily during the day(Morning and Afternoon) with strong emphasis on Who we are in Christ and the Finished Work of redemption with its attendant realities and privileges and rights,while the Evenings majorly, we demonstrate the things of the Spirit in Gifts(utterance,revelation and power),with needs met in its diversities and the participants full of joy

All Past meetings have had numerous testimonies of many receiving the new birth,filled with the Spirit and diverse and special miracles like in the book of acts,further more and very poignant is the receiving, development and enhancement of many believers in the work of ministry and in the things of the Spirit

I really hope I am able to articulate these thoughts appropriately...

I read a post one or two days ago where someone straight up called Charles Finney an heretic! My heart really bled reading that.
He accused him of Pelagianism and that he was a major proponent of altar calls.

Recently I read Papa Hagin mention how that 80/85% of Finney's convert into Christianity have gone on to be committed Christians. A percentage so far surpassed by none other of his age. D.L. Moody was said to have had just 50% of his converts known to have stayed committed.

In Finney's days, whole streets and villages were recorded to have turned to the Lord. Pubs shut down after Finney passed through.

Imagine labeling such a man heretic openly simply because of an aspect of doctrine you believe to have been wrong.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY DANGERS OF THE CURRENT TRENDING OF 'ISMS' GOING ON, ON TWITTER.

Someone says - Christ is the explanation of all scriptures. Quickly you say, christocentrism, therefore he teaches that you can live anyhow after all salvation is eternal (no one christocentric teacher i know teaches this though, its just a slander slant), therefore he believes this, he believes that, he is heretic.

Someone says The trinity is separate being, another says they are same person, and we immediately pitch them with one "ism", next thing, he is heretic.

The other day, one funnily said, "I don't believe hypergrace people are saved"... now now, EVERYONE who teaches the message of God's grace are all heretic, they are not saved. Aaaaahhh... Pastor?

It's saddening.

Truth is, someone might agree with Calvin on certain things he taught, but not on another issue.

We must treat all issues separately.

Let's stop using "isms" to cancel ourselves.

Stop flinging this "this man is heretic" phrase anyhow.

A funny truth is, where you are in knowledge is not where you were 7years ago.
IMAGINE IF WE HAVE ALL CALLED YOU HERETIC back then?

I know an Elder in the body of Christ today whose thoughts on salvation sounds like "God knows and has pre-selected men to salvation, yet nothing else in all he teaches and affirms looks close to the ism we associate that doctrine with.

Some of your parents subscribe to doctrines you don't subscribe to - but you know they loved and served the Lord all their lives, how about calling your parents heretic?

I hope I passed these thoughts out well sha...
