Meet Natanael TOPETE-PEREZ. Over the past year he has been active with construction site theft across multiple jurisdictions. However, despite overstaying his Visa and no longer being in the Country legally, ICE was prevented from detaining him after any of his court proceedings by the previous federal administration.

After he was convicted and found guilty of FELONY Theft by Receiving for a Douglas County construction site theft we thought his case was done. Fast forward to yesterday afternoon, TOPETE-PEREZ made the bold move of contacting DCSO to request his tools back. Specifically, the tools that DCSO could not prove were stolen, but were recovered with multiple other confirmed stolen tools.  Instead of getting his tools, he was presented with ICE agents who took him into custody for deportation processing.

DCSO is committed to protecting all innocent people in our County and will cooperate with federal authorities to ensure that criminals are removed from our community.
