I don't want lower taxes.
I want hospital beds.
Trains that run on time.
Kids who aren't too hungry to learn.
Libraries in every town.
Rivers that don't run with slurry.
Local councils not forced into bankruptcy.
Politicians who don't venally line their own pockets.
@NicolaTallis@DrOwenEmmerson @kingfisherbaker @Briege_Rice I’m expecting something like this on our Normandy trip as it will be my birthday whilst we are there!
@Longshanks1307 I’ve found various mistakes in one of the resources packs provided by the exam board on Wales under the Normans e.g mixing up individuals and their titles. Also mistakes in the videos on BBC teach as well - e.g Magnus as Hardrada’s father and not nephew.
Thank God the ruling male upper classes who fought tooth and nail to stop the enfranchisement of working people and women over the course of 200 years never used violence.
“If they really are refugees, why don’t they have to stay in the first safe country they reach?”
“Why don’t they just claim asylum in France?”

#RefugeesWelcome
@Longshanks1307 Maybe I could get you in at my school for a talk? I teach Norman England to GCSE students and it is a period I love, and I make them love it!
@GeographyLeahy Please could I get a copy of this too - we’ve just moved to using iPads and onenote and I’m so used to handwriting everything! This would be brilliant! Thanks so much [email protected]

Outrageous scenes of cops arresting anti-monarchy protestors and stealing their placards
So we are not allowed to show public opposition to a bloke being crowned head of state for having been born into unimaginable wealth while ppl line up at food banks and schools fall apart
'I just look at the current King and Queen and think, how very dare you?!"
This caller releases her frustrations to @mrjamesob about the Coronation, asserting that people only care because of 'nostalgia'.
Charles III, isn’t being crowned because of any merit, but simply because he was born into power- with his fortune of £1.8B but food banks up by 30%, millions in poverty, why do we even have to pay £100M for his coronation or a decadent & archaic monarchy @bbcdebatenight 🤴🇬🇧
