there are entire industries and categories of jobs that are organized on the idea: “the people who hold these jobs are married to someone who pays the bills or they have family money. We don’t have to worry about what a “living wage” for a single person is”

@mazamuno I fight with this irl with work procedures that are written this way and find that the most senior person only understands the process this way not what they're actually doing. Horrifying, maddening.

@Gingerblast @OD_RPG The martial-caster gap has existed since forever, the phrase "linear fighter, exponential wizard" came out of 2e era iirc.
The majority of this reads as a copy pasted essay on 2e with a 5e mechanic tacked on.
