I love how Jeff Foxworthy tells this one.

During a Bible study with homeless men in Atlanta, he asked, “What is the Bible?” One man shrugged and said, “Just a book of rules.”

Then another man, Wayne, stood up with tears in his eyes. He shared how he’d lost everything—money, home, dignity—after his mom passed. All he had left was her old Bible with a handwritten note inside, pointing him to Jesus.

One night, in his lowest moment, even that Bible disappeared.
Months later, while working a random cleanup job far from where he lost it, Wayne pulled a dirty book from the trash pile. He opened it… and there was his mother’s handwriting. The same Bible. The same love letter. God had brought it back to him.

That moment changed everything. Wayne realized it wasn’t just a book—it was proof that God never stops chasing His children, no matter how far they run.

The Bible isn’t a list of rules. It’s a love story written for you and me. And sometimes, God delivers it right back into our hands exactly when we need it most.
