@SenatorCollins is now explaining her useless no vote. Thank you for pretending to care about real concerns while never openly advocating against an obviously poor candidate for AG. History will remember your heroics and great concern while never not doing the wrong thing.
I have carefully reviewed Todd Blanche’s qualifications to be Attorney General. This includes his record and responses to questions from Senators at the Department of Justice Appropriations hearing, his confirmation hearing, and in the weeks that followed.
While I believe Mr. Blanche is a capable lawyer, the Department of Justice has become increasingly political.
Mr. Blanche has taken several actions that have further eroded the Department’s independence, and that is the basis for my vote to oppose his confirmation:
Mr. Blanche approved an order to shield the President, his sons, and the family business from IRS audits, protections unavailable to other American taxpayers.
He approved the creation of a $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund.
He promised an anti-abortion organization that he would seek to prohibit the mailing of abortion medication to women nationwide.
Under his leadership, the Department attempted to indict Senators Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin over their ill-advised, but constitutionally protected, videos encouraging resistance to unlawful orders.
More than 1,200 former Department of Justice employees have opposed his nomination, arguing that he has undermined the institution.
For these reasons, I will vote against this nomination.
Does #polymarket have odds on #Blanche being confirmed? Because I believe in a republican senator with a spine like I believe in #bigfoot. Scratch that, I’d give better odds to the existence of a #yeti
In what could be the nail on the coffin for Blanche, Sen. Cornyn (R-TX) confirmed today that he will not support Todd Blanche’s confirmation as attorney general absent a written modification to the IRS agreement between Trump and his own administration.

When K was in vet school, they had mandatory classes on the subject, specifically the realized cost of a Starbucks coffee if you used financial aid money to make the purchase. I know more than a couple of PhD’s that still failed to learn the lesson 🤣
I’m not good at maths. $815.00 a year gets us 4.1 trillion in debt over 10. So we get $8,150 dollars in return for 4.1 trillion worth of debt? Sounds like it should have been a no vote from anyone with actively firing brain cells
Yet another poor take. Lets get back to Americas new favorite pastime, watching @AlexiLalas get dunked on by both @Ibra_official and Thierry Henry. If we have to be embarrassed by this loser, I’m glad we have two legends to clown on him on live TV
Youth soccer (youth sports) is a competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for. I’d love if soccer was free to all. But who is going to pay for all this free soccer?
Man, when he figures out what the government, of the people, owning a stake in a private company is called he is gonna be bigly mad. It’s gonna be YUGE.
Trump: "Intel came in. They had a problem. I said, 'I can solve your problem, but I want 10% of the company' ... somebody said that's not very American. I said, 'No, I think it's very American, actually.' And I've done that with other deals."
It was 6-3…. But also, who is he replacing? Kav and Barrett are young. The liberal wing would literally die before retiring during this admin. There has been zero indication Robert’s is considering retirement.
Vance: This was only a 5-4 decision, That’s why the midterms are so important. It's the senators who ultimately vote on the supreme court justices. Imagine if one of the five justices who made a bad call today, if they left the supreme court, we want to make sure we get somebody good on there in the future.
Morgan freeman narrators voice; “but in the end, he couldn’t help but vote for Blanche. He was what everyone always suspected, spineless like the rest of them”. I can’t wait to quote tweet this quote tweet with the video where he explains how he was swayed to justify the decision
The funny thing about permits that anyone who’s ever handled permits can tell you, they can be pulled. Or they can get held up in red tape. Those are the facts. What a smug shithead
NASHVILLE: “This building is vested. We are going to build it there. We already have the permits in hand.”
Paid @DCBLOXinc rep/attorney Doug Sloan says the data center will go up next to the zoo despite the blowback and basically the whole city opposing it. 🦓🦒
Hahaha. @SenBillCassidy has big cuck energy. The man ran you out of a job after you suckled his teet every time you were asked and you’ve cowered at every opportunity to take a stand on important issues. At least the next guy will just be open about his subservience.
EXCLUSIVE: After his heated exchange with President Trump over Iran, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) says Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stepped in to arrange the classified briefing that ultimately affected his vote on the war powers resolution.
“I passed a note to Steve Witkoff... He said, ‘Call me back in the hour and let's have a briefing,’” Cassidy tells @margbrennan.
One of the dudes who planned to shoot up the White House was an anti-ICE, anti-Capitalist leftoid and another was a right-wing boogalooboi who thought Trump is controlled by Jews and ate children at Satanic banquets with people on the Epstein list
It’s just nice to see there are still people who don’t let having different politics get in the way of being friends
BREAKING: President Trump says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will have "no choice" but to accept a US deal with Iran, because he "calls the shots," per FT.
Details include:
1. "I call the shots. I call all the shots. He [Netanyahu] doesn’t call the shots," Trump said
2. Trump said today's missile strikes by Iran will not impact the deal
3. Trump said he believes "the deal is going on"
4. Trump said that Iran’s strikes had not changed his desire to conclude US-Iran negotiations
Oil prices are trading higher.
Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.
Breath of fresh air to see Zelensky clowning Putin. We all know what the result will be. I hope the parade in Moscow has more fireworks than the 4th of July. #makeitrainukraine
As of today, there has been no official appeal to Ukraine regarding the modality of a cessation of hostilities that is being claimed on Russian social media. We believe that human life is far more valuable than any anniversary “celebration”. In this regard, we are announcing a ceasefire regime starting at 00:00 on the night of May 5–6. In the time left until that moment, it is realistic to ensure that silence takes effect. We will act reciprocally starting from that moment. It is time for Russian leaders to take real steps to end their war, especially since Russia’s Defense Ministry believes it cannot hold a parade in Moscow without Ukraine’s goodwill.
Couple of thoughts. 1. What? Where are you eating? You only get ID for booze, occasionally, if you are older 2. What does this have to do with the DOJ? The DOJ prosecutes criminals. Period. It doesn’t advocate for voting laws. Wtf is this? Ask him about Maxwell. That matters
Blanche: "There's a lot of things we can be doing, like voter ID. Every time you walk into a restaurant you have to show ID. How about you have to show your idea to vote? That's not anything that's crazy."
Without a change of direction in the assumption of political responsibility, and without respect for institutions and international agreements, humanity's destiny risks being tragically compromised. God does not want this. His holy Name must not be profaned by the desire for domination, arrogance, or discrimination. Above all, it must never be invoked to justify death-dealing choices and actions.
Such an I treating sentiment. I wish someone had the balls to ask him if he also feels the same about that time he made up, and later admitted to making up, the news story about Somalians eating local pets. If words from authority matter, surely he can pontificate on his regret
@jtdtiger@BillKristol I love your about me bio. Based on your response here, might is suggest you whittle it down and reorganize it to just “rabid believer”? Seems more fitting
