"Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong?
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other."

New book I'm starting:
"By Gaslight" by BC novelist Steven Price.
From what I understand, it is a compelling "cat-and-mouse" historical mystery, primarily set in London in the late 1800s.
700 pages won't dissuade me after the 1300 pages of the unabridged Count of Monte Cristo!
(As you know, mine is a feed that welcomes everyone.)
But for any Christian tweeps here, I just finished this thoughtful book, on achieving abundance and resilience -- via reflections on the life of Jeremiah the prophet. Highly recommend!
Book I'm reading right now:
"In a series of profound reflections on the life of Jeremiah the prophet, Eugene Peterson explores the heart of what it means to be fully and genuinely human."
Busy lately, so I've set aside today to do it lovely deep clean my kitchen and bedroom. I'm going to finish a book.
Going to stay off devices this weekend. Important for my well-being. ๐ฆ
"When we hear about how much money #MAID could save in health-care spending at the same time as knowing people with #disabilities are being presented with the choice to die when not offered support to live, this shapes the possibilities people perceive."

June 27, is it day to celebrate every child of every ability. A fun day from face painting to petting zoo. To personal stories. If youโve ever had to take your child on the Ferry to Vancouver, youโll understand what getting care at home means. We have an amazing pediatric department, just funding inequities.
All monies go to https://t.co/uLQLoZaRh5 for patient education. Large donations to https://t.co/CJQQUSlbTz @ourvichospitals to support our team of carers and researchers.
For kids here on the island and all over the province that travel here for care, this is for them. @drotchford_BC@cindyeharnett@globalnews@saanichnews@timescolonist@cbcnewsbc@WillWJGreaves
Dear Victoria just three weeks away from our massive celebration of our pediatric program. Celebrating our kids with cerebral palsy strokes and other neurological disorders as they seek more movement and more freedoms, a pack day for kids with petting zoo, and so much more
I did something significant and scary today. It won't make sense to you, but I am noting it here just for me.
This old girl still has some rock 'n' roll in her. That's damn right.

"Itโs such a good feeling
To know youโre alive
Itโs such a happy feeling:
Youโre growing inside
And when you wake up ready to say,
'I think Iโll make a snappy new day'
Itโs such a good feeling,
A very good feeling,
The feeling you know
Youโre alive."

"And she's searching through the stations
For an unfamiliar song
And she's thinking about the places
That she knows she still belongs
She smiles the secret smile
That's sure she knows exactly how to carry on."
