We are in the crosshairs of the #COVID19 pandemic. But as business closings mount and millions of working people are suddenly without a paycheck, it’s not Wall Street we need to worry about – it’s Main Street. @conway_maureen@mpopov1229@AspenWorkforce https://t.co/DuoLcADe11
@CampbellforD4 Our small restaurants and food businesses need immediate resources to manage cash and pay staff, or face near immediate bankruptcy and massive layoffs, followed by shuttered storefronts across the City.
@marty_walsh Mayor Walsh- This plan will bankrupt most restaurants. They can't afford to work at 1/2 capacity and still pay their bills. These businesses are desperately trying to stay open to manage cash and keep staff. What they need is to be able to defer payments and small grants!
@wgbhnews@BostonSchools That's great- but what about the families of these kids, many of whom work jobs that don't offer paid time off? How will they eat, pay rent, etc?
@wutrain YES! Our small food businesses will out of business permanently before the end of the month and 100's more vulnerable people out of a job if we don't get government help IMMEDIATELY!
Can gig jobs support businesses, workers, and families at the same time? We'll explore the issues and opportunities facing gig workers and offer ideas to make gig work good work.
