I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned.
We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt.
I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars.
And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence.
And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it.
The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen.
I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.
This man is a true American patriot.
Patriotism is not waving a flag while masked government agents racially profile and indiscriminately seize Latino workers. It is understanding the Constitution, defending equal protection, and fighting for “liberty and justice for all.”
He confronted ICE and alerted his neighbors. Together, they drove the agents away. No warrant. No court order. Just an attempted drive-by, racist abduction of good, legal, law-abiding, hardworking people.
Know your rights. Stand with your neighbors. Use https://t.co/du9bv2U4pY to prepare for and respond to ICE encounters legally and constitutionally. Help keep it free: https://t.co/Hi5Yo2N2N2
Admitting you don’t have all the facts is what adults do.
He said “but he had a firearm” which he didn’t, and don’t we have a right to carry anyway?
But the @FoxNews crowd is fed lie after lie.
When their viewers hear the truth, with an open mind, they almost always wake up
How pathetic is Sen. Thom Tillis?
Tillis: Because of my deep respect for the survivors, I won’t vote for Blanche unless he meets with them.
The survivors: Well, we had a meeting and Blanche was totally unhelpful, dismissive, and disrespectful,
Tillis: I’m good.
I’m hearing from a source at the Epstein survivor meeting with Blanche that it was “deeply disappointing.” The source said it was “a patronizing meeting to check the box for Tillis’s vote.” Blanche told the survivors it wasn’t his job to investigate or prosecute anyone, instead saying that’s the FBI’s job, the source added. The survivors were told to go back to the FBI and retell their stories and point agents to the files that should be investigated. Blanche did say he thought the FBI had done a terrible job in the past on the case, according to this source.
I commend Todd Blanche for doing what all his predecessors over the last two decades never did: meet with the victims of Jeffery Epstein’s horrific crimes. I appreciate his willingness to directly engage and listen to them.
Without due process, ICE can just claim, without proof, that you're undocumented, then detain, incarcerate, and deport you.
Without due process, you're guilty with no chance to prove your innocence.
ICE agents are financially incentivized to arrest people, immigrant or not.
Epstein survivor Dani Bensky: "Todd Blanche spent approximately nine hours meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell, he did not even spend nine minutes meeting with a survivor…We need an AG committed to ensuring that everyone who facilitated Epstein's crimes is held accountable."
I’ve written a book about my time as President. It’s called PROMISE ME, AMERICA. It’s coming out November 17th and is available for preorder now.
