@SaraS1lveira @j_a_corrigan That was my big take-away too! I still don't know how to find the original post that someone commented on, and why the "top" and "latest" sections have different tweets...π€

A6: In live-classes. We used to have students create their own class rules that would foster team spirit/esprit de corps. This assigning of responsibility helped people take ownership of their behaviours and made them feel more secure/in control of class. #etec681
@JulianH_Edu That's when you know you've succeeded in engaging them. I read about a computer scientist/math teacher (i think) who went to an inner-city school and taught them how to break codes using math, but only if they were quiet. When someone talked they all came down on him hard!
A5: Webex has great interactive tools that encourage engagement. I find their pointer/arrow tool and whiteboard writing tools very straightforward and functional. Plus, you can share work that was done in breakout rooms with the rest of the class #etec681
A3/3: one easy solution would be for VoIP/computer audio to allow two or more people to talk at the same time seamlessly. Combined with VR and larger visual interfaces, that could imitate being in a real group, this would be a start!#etec681
A3: There is also an element of accountability. I know that if I dont show up to a live class and participate, my peers will notice. It's like how I'll always do the expexted number of push-ups in a live gym class but on my own when following from an app? Nah... #etec681
A3: we saw this in one of the earlier readings, it's all about community and social interaction and despite advances, it's tough to beat being in a common space and listening and debating ideas. I can see how students drop out of online course due to this. #etec681
@ToursdelaTable I never thought about Doulas having to DE their patients but of course why wouldn't they? So interesting how providing health services online are vital when meeting face to face poses a risk. #etec681
@j_a_corrigan A2/2: This experience is great because it encapsulates some of the things we aim for and hope to deliver in DE: access, convenience, flexibility.
A1: I'm Jonathan Sullivan, a 5th year ETEC dioma student. I work as a training specialist for a telecom company and I care about DE because it's my job to make online learning more engaging and successful #etec681
@AirCanadaVac I had a trip that was cancelled due to Covid and received a document saying I was issued a future travel credit. However, there is no code nor instructions on how to use this credit - I only have my booking reference. Please advise.
