A dark green, £1700 Jaguar XJ6 with Quincy Jones blasting as you drive into a proper spring sunset may be the best way to feel accomplished and content.
I could not adore this car more if I tried.
@munchcorp Bastard of a thing to try and fix, managed to sort a new UJ after many hours but getting the keyway out of the header is going to be a horrific job!
Silage harvest brought to a standstill thanks to a broken UJ and a key falling into the header. Not sure how many times a Jaguar has been used as a heavy plant repair shop, but it looks good.
It’s been a busy few months working on the farm. With the weather changing I’ve finally been able to get out and enjoy my Jaguar. Still utterly in love. I’ve kept my winter tyres on the front but gone back to summers on the rear, just to enjoy a bit more sliding in 16.5ft of Jag.
There’s no a place in the world that the Jaguar doesn’t look fantastically suited. Our trip down to Lyme Regis was graceful, full of space and plenty of pace to follow.
I’m very sad to hear the news that one of the all-time great automotive journalists & broadcasters, Quentin Willson, has died, aged 68. He was clever, engaging & friendly, & we’ll not see his like again. Here he is on #TopGear in ’98. #RIPQuentinWillson
@munchcorp All okay now, thank you! Had to take a day off work and extend my stay in the hotel, my wonderful partner looked after me all night with no sleep, she’s the one that called the ambulance and got me into the recovery position a few times. Thankfully home now, catching up on rest
@mrcjstevens Thank you, bloody scary, has definitely but the fear into me for future nights out but the NHS and their paramedics were fantastic, made me laugh after 3 hours of crying (which I can’t remember)
@ListerLawrence Colin chapman did what he had to to make money for his company while also enjoying his daily driver, a Range Rover. The only person who can decide what he would think of Lotus today, is Chapman himself.
@LUDENClassics Modern regulations on tyres make “ditch finders” much harder to come by, especially compared to the 80s/90s… cheap tyres in the 2020s are more than safe enough for regular daily drivers
@munchcorp It feels very rare today, I very much doubt that people working in retail get that type of encouragement yet it’s worth more than any pay rise!
