My first year was in Kaduna in 2015, when I was preparing for the NDA 67 Regular Course exams. Funny enough, I wasn’t selected. So I quietly stayed back with my uncle, waiting and changed my admission to ABU.

I got admitted in 2016 and resumed around November/December. You know how new students resume registration, documentation, running around everywhere, trying to figure out life. Meanwhile, I was basically doing nothing and giving Twitter almost all my attention. 😂

Back then, it was Twitter for Android, with my suspended account, Saddam Kwaith. I tweeted about something one day and this girl, Amatullah, liked it. I slid into her DM, and surprisingly, she replied. One conversation became another, then friendship, then feelings. Before I knew it, we had become lovers.

She was always calling me, sometimes sending airtime and showing me plenty love. Then she asked me to come to Abuja.

Now, let me remind you, I had never been to Abuja in my life. 😂

But this girl was serious. She sent me transport money, told me exactly where to drop, and kept calling to make sure I was ready.

That morning, she called when i was inroads,

Baby, where are you? Ban sani ba.
She said, Ask the driver.

I’d ask the driver, tell her where we were, and continue the journey. This happened until we reached Mararaba.

Around 10 a.m., I called her

Babe, mun iso fa.

She said, Okay, ina zuwa.

Simple.

One hour later, I called again.

Number switched off.

I tried her Airtel line.

Switched off too.

I kept calling.

Nothing.
