@aethrabellis I agree, it's good that we have all these different shows which give us something different. I will watch HotD and afterwards look forward to the next A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It's actually good days at the moment. We should get a look at the second season sometime. 😉
@burrowingdeeper@URFRONTPAGEBOY Aerion will come back into the story at some stage like Lionel and Maeker will. But I like the fact that in each story you get a new set of characters. The characters are always interesting and the cast is good again.
@URFRONTPAGEBOY@burrowingdeeper You are seriously suggesting people won't care about Dunc and Egg? It's pretty much known that there are three separate stories. As Egg matures the show will grow with him, as he continues his journey back to Kings Landing.
The visa story is the most telling controversy this World Cup has had
Fifa is going against its own rules and precedent
Should it even be held in a state that clearly doesn't see it as a World Cup
What was the point of Infantino's cravenness to Trump?

🚨 @CAF_Online just proved again why African football is held hostage.
Africa’s top referee — Omar Abdulkadir Artan, CAF Men’s Referee of the Year 2025, FIFA-selected for the 2026 World Cup, first Somali ever — gets humiliated and denied entry to the US despite valid visa and diplomatic passport.
FIFA shrugs. Somalia’s ministry speaks up.
CAF? Total silence. Not a single word defending their own award-winning official. No statement. No pressure on FIFA. No outrage for African talent blocked at Western gates.
This is the same CAF that lectures on “African unity” while drowning in corruption scandals, missing millions in accounts, dodgy decisions stripping titles, and endless puppet leadership that bows to external powers instead of fighting for the continent.
They award the man “best in Africa” then disappear when real protection is needed.
While Global South referees and players face extra vetting, selective borders, and humiliation, CAF collects fees, smiles for photos, and stays quiet. Same pattern with endless African football exploitation: talent exported, dignity denied, leadership absent.
This isn’t governance. It’s complicity.
Africa deserves better than these sellouts masquerading as leaders. Stand with Omar Artan. Demand accountability from CAF. The people are watching.
@meralhece Remember when thousands of workers were killed building stadiums and their families got next to nothing in compensation? Stop playing two wrong issues against the other one. Both should be condemned.
Fucking NHS. I woke up this morning with some trouble in my eye. Called the optician. Had tests. Sent straight to hospital with a torn retina.
They insisted on giving me laser surgery there and then to fix it. Didn't want any money for the job. Now I'm home again.
How inconsiderate. Joking aside. Remember there are people out there who want to dismantle the NHS.
@louderry Thousands of people died building stadiums in Qatar, can we stop using this as if it was for no reason. Both issues are bad and need condemning. The ref story as only just broken and plenty have already condemned it.
🚨 WORST @FIFAcom PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME: INFANTINO SILENT AS US HUMILIATES AFRICA
Gianni Infantino selected Omar Abdulkadir Artan — Africa's top referee and first Somali at a World Cup — then watched US authorities deny him entry at the border despite diplomatic passport and approved visa. Turned back like trash. No reason. No fight.
Where is your voice, Infantino?
You preach "global football" and "unity" while selling out African officials to US border politics. This isn't leadership — it's cowardice and betrayal of the game.
You are proving every day why you are the worst FIFA president in history. Africa will not forget this disgrace.
Stand up or step down.

Statement from Omar Artan is far more graceful and reserved than FIFA deserves. It is a stain on this tournament that one of Africa's top officials can be blocked from the biggest month of his career.
This World Cup is also being played in Mexico and Canada. Assuming he would be allowed to enter(?), FIFA could surely at least make a point of him refereeing games there.
The lack of support from FIFA is despicable. They can't even be bothered to stand up for their own referees. I wonder if they show a similar disregard should a player fall foul from this disgusting regime?
The referee appointed to @FIFAWorldCup by FIFA referees committee was unable to enter the US due to visa issues.
@FIFAcom failed miserably in this regard.
The slogan ‘Football unites’ rang hollow.
Disgrace!
My purpose in the game is fulfilled ⭐️
I lived out my childhood dreams, played on the biggest stages, won the biggest trophies. Grateful to God for all of it.
To all my fans, the clubs, my teammates and my family: this will forever be ours. Thank you.
The mission is complete. Now I step into my next calling.
More of the journey to come.
Love,
