The Eucharist is God’s response to the deepest desire of the human heart: the hunger for authentic life. In the Eucharist, Christ Himself is truly in our midst, to nourish, console and sustain us on our journey.
If you’re dwelling on the past, you won’t see the new thing. If you’re focused on who hurt you and what wasn’t fair, then you’ll miss your destiny. God is saying, forget the former things, quit dwelling on your mistakes. This is a new day.
“God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” - C.S. Lewis
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
—Numbers 6:24–26
Our emnity with man is ultimately a result of our emnity with God. We need reconciliation with Jesus if we want deep, lasting reconciliation with people.
Ephesians 6:12. Ephesians 2:13-16. Romans 5:10.
"A Christian is not a man who never goes wrong, but a man is enabled to repent and pick himself up and begin over again after each stumble--because the Christ-life is inside him, repairing him all the time." -C.S. Lewis
Hope is confidence that Jesus’ leadership is good, that love is being imparted in us during the process of the trial, that our life is successful in God’s eyes as we grow in love and humility, and that He will greatly reward all of our growth in Christlikeness on the last day.
