@mattyglesias Yep. Put the 1.5m empty homes back in to use, build to 2.5m homes already granted applications and not built, redevelop the business buildings that are left empty that no one wants another 1.5m+. There is no housing crisis, just apathy.
@emmafildes Housing developers over paid for land in a fight to grab more. Now they have all this land banked that they cannot develop until house prices go up enough for them to build.
@lfg_uk You are looking in the wrong place. You should be looking at who signed off £100m for this.
Yes bats need protection from developers, no it shouldn't cost £100m, that's ridiculous.
@ObliviousReaper@LNallalingham That was in a national newspaper. You believe everything a newspaper tells you. Facts are twisted by them to provide a good story. The truth is nowhere near as enraging.
@ObliviousReaper@LNallalingham And again, no. You are selecting a single or few councils, most are massively understaffed and have no money for donations, except money ring fenced by central government for their pet projects.
@ObliviousReaper@LNallalingham And you have shown yo have zero understanding of the issues the councils have. A minority have made some stupid decisions (Birmingham), the majority have to decide if they can do anything apart from the basic legal requirements
@Sam_Dumitriu All they promised when submitted was just enticement to agree to project. None of the things for community would ever have happened, it is seen time and time again.
@ndyRoo2@Boba_Ball_ I ran a business and paid 40% more than my competitors. Almost 100% staff retention, expected perfection and never regretted it. I charged customers premium rates for the best and made a fortune.
@Mr_Anderson_Esq Here's an idea. Anyone that has to get benefits to top up low wages, the government bills the business. Why should my wages go to supporting businesses who will not pay staff a wage that can be lived on.
@PaddyKeenan0121@watling_samuel No council can afford to build 1000 homes, until recently the number of new social homes were in the few hundreds, for the whole country.Under our tory council they never built any for years, our new lab/lib council have built a few and have plans for many more, but not in the 1000's
