The upper deck jut above it. Sitting in that first-row corner seat felt like being over the field in a low-flying hot air balloon.

[Paul Mayne @PaulMayne6]

Al Kaline became the regular right fielder for the Tigers in ‘54. There were 75 box seats in right field that jutted out close to the playing area. In an effort to protect Kaline, the seats were removed after the ‘54 season and created what became known as Kaline's Corner .👍⚾️

I did have a Mark Fidrych shirt, though. As a second grader. I’m sure it was an unlicensed knockoff iron-on. But it was a prized possession.

[Ron Flatter @ronflatter]

@IffyTheDopester Based on the scoreboard and @baseball_ref, this was Friday, May 27, 1977. The crowd of 44,207 was attracted by @tigers 1976 rookie of the year Mark Fidrych making his season debut after a spring-training knee injury. He went the distance in a 2-1 loss to the expansion @Mariners.

Dude has a Converse shirt on. But no team gear in sight. That’s the way it was. Team gear was rare to find in stores and gold to have in your possession.

[Iffy The Dopester @IffyTheDopester]

Not a Tigers cap (or any cap for that matter) or baseball shirt in sight in the Tiger Stadium bleachers circa 1977. But plenty of beer was consumed and so was the "devil's lettuce"!

Tom Izzo: “We won’t have to worry about my guys thinking they’re better than they are. But practices have been great. I see no entitlement from anybody. But we got punched in the mouth and that will be good for us.

“This is the best game we could have played in the country. We couldn’t have played a better team, a better-coached team, a better offense that they run. This is the best exhibition game that we could have played.”

[Jim Comparoni @JimComparoni]

Tom Izzo jumped off the bench at 16:08 to shut down a bad-word chant that The Izzone was chanting at UConn head coach Dan Hurley.

They complied.

Kenny Stabler, 4 TDs and 16 INTs?

I had no idea.

Different era, but sheesh.

[Super 70s Sports @Super70sSports]

If you don’t lose at least two minutes of your life right now taking a deep dive into these stats then I have to question your priorities. The Sporting News was the best.

I love this. And I didn't need to see the name to know who it was, and to remember how it made me feel as a young Lions fan.

[Billy Sims @RealBillySims]

Here it is folks, my new logo! That touchdown celebration was a big part of my playing days, so it felt right to bring it back. From my time with @OU_Football and winning the @HeismanTrophy to my years with the @Lions, football has given me more great memories than I deserve. This represents a celebration of that journey and proud to share it with y’all. Same Billy, same memories, just a new look! What do y'all think?
