We were delighted to welcome MP @JimfromOldham to campus this afternoon to see first-hand how Government funding is being used to invest in industry standard facilities and create more opportunities for our learners.
Thank you to Jim for taking the time to visit!
"In remembering Jo today, let us not simply mourn what was loss. Let us ask what kind of country we want to become"

The defence of our nation is the first duty of government.
Our Armed Forces carry out that duty every day with professionalism, courage, and extraordinary skill.
It is a huge honour and a privilege to serve alongside them again.
We owe those who serve the UK the kit to do the job and the loyalty to stand by them when it's done. We are failing on both.
I’ve spent my whole time in government making that case. Number 10 will not listen, so I am resigning as Minister for the Armed Forces.

Angela Rayner demands visa rules shake-up for care workers 'living in fear'
"We need to end the exploitation of your visas being tied to a single employer. We need it to be sector-wide, so you can't be exploited, bullied or treated unfairly."

Congratulations to @Meg_HillierMP on her election as Chair of the Parliamentary Group of Co-operative MPs.
Co-operation gives people control over the entities that run their lives, and ownership of assets in their communities.
That's what our MPs are in Parliament to deliver. 🐝
Commons voting on an SI that changes elections for combined authority mayors and combined county mayors from first past the post to the supplementary vote system.
99 years ago, the Cheltenham Agreement created the Labour and Co-operative electoral pact, and together we've fought for an society where wealth and power are shared ever since.
Every Labour and Co-operative representative and campaigner today is part of that story.
The attack last night in Belfast was deeply shocking and all our thoughts are with the victim, who is seriously injured in hospital, and with his loved ones. I would like to thank the individuals who showed extraordinary bravery in coming to his aid. /1
Breaking:
Keir Starmer says that the horrific attack in Belfast last night - which is being described as an attempted beheading - is 'sickening'
Police have confirmed that a Somalian man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder 'following a serious assault involving a knife'
The victim, who was in his 40s, is in a serious condition and has 'significant injuries to his face, neck and back'
Police are urging people not to reshare images or footage of the stabbing in North Belfast
Starmer: 'I have absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets.
'My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim, and I thank the first responders, including members of the public who intervened'

Last month I announced the first increase in HMRC mileage rates since 2011.
It was great to hear from @AndreaEganGS and @unisontheunion members today about the positive difference this change will make for many working people.
Sadly this is the experience of many in public life.
Extremes are thriving with the help of social media algorithms, fake accounts and misinformation. Hate and division has been normalised (and monetised).
This is materially different than anything I’ve experienced in two decades of elected office.
