If Trump wants to project US power, let him stand against Putin and stand with Ukraine. You project power by standing by democratic allies, not authoritarians.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@Roshan_Rinaldi Sorry, Mr. Blanche, they hate your leading Justice absent two vital character traits: integrity and independence.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Trump restricts journalists. Courts intervene.
Trump spends taxpayer money on political propaganda ads.

"I can do whatever the hell I want," until the court intervenes.

To Trump, the Constitution isn't the law of the land. It's an inconvenience to be ignored.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@RpsAgainstTrump If they can’t stand with the people’s interests and the Constitution they took an oath to defend, they should step down and allow someone with the character and courage to do the job they were elected to do. Cowardice.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@RpsAgainstTrump You voted to confirm him, Senator. Part of your job is vet these people, not just have them sit before a committee for a job interview. You did this with Hegseth and Robert Kennedy, Jr.
I am tired of senate republicans coming forth and NOW admitting their mistakes.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@X_Global_tv This quote is fabricated. A fact-check of this same viral claim found no credible evidence that George called for Trump’s hospitalization.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@NewsHour Respectfully, how could you NOT see these choices were the WORST to begin with. We need public servants who place character FIRST in their decision-making, not party.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

Donald Trump’s policies, priorities, and ego are all on full display in his handling of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts—a national institution transformed into a monument to himself.

THE ORWELLIAN REWRITE OF WATERGATE

Trump’s DOJ is reviewing whether Watergate prosecutors committed misconduct.
Comparing it to Trump, JD Vance said the “deep state” took Nixon down.

This isn’t about the past. It’s about legitimizing the present.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

DONALD TRUMP ON AI TECH:
“Seeing tremendous self-policing.”

That worked out well for the Supreme Court, didn’t it? Self-policing without the inconvenience of accountability.

(Trump to decorator: "More Gold.")

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

THE COURT HAS LOST ALL CREDIBILITY.

The Supreme Court is allowing Trump, for now, to deport migrants to third countries, including places they are not from and where they may face serious human rights abuses.

THIS SHOULD ALARM EVERY AMERICAN.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

READ SMITH'S REPORT:
Jack Smith report, Volume One: The Election Case (PDF).
Volume II of Smith’s report on the classified-documents investigation remains unreleased, its public release blocked by Trump-appointed federal Judge Aileen Cannon.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

You don’t need a seat in the US Senate, a law degree, or the black robe of a Supreme Court Justice to know the difference between right and what Donald Trump did on Jan. 6.
What Republicans need is the courage and commitment to the rule of law...on behalf of ALL of us

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

The spectacle before the Senate Judiciary Committee is shameful.
Republicans have every right to question Jack Smith—but calling him a “dirtbag” isn’t oversight. It's political theater aimed at an audience of one: Donald Trump.
Oversight should be about facts, not loyalty.

“The main source of national power and greatness is found in the average citizenship of the nation.

The average cannot be kept high unless the standard of the leaders is very much higher.” —Theodore Roosevelt

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@realpublicius And that’s bad?
War in Iran that was not approved by Congress. Runaway inflation.
He’s more focused on a golden arch and East wing palace, and degraded Kennedy Center where Congress had authorized more than $200 million for repair and making money for himself than ending a war.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@UsaReport07 I don’t like Trump, either.
But There is no credible evidence to support that quote.
Don’t fall into the black hole of false info.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

LOVE FEST:

Trump rolls out the red carpet for China’s Xi, the authoritarian leader of the world’s most powerful communist country. Then runs campaign ads warning Americans that Democrats are “communists.”

Apparently communism is terrifying, unless you’re hosting it for dinner.

[Jim Lichtman @JimLichtman]

@RpsAgainstTrump Mr. Speaker: You lost credibility as soon as you stood behind Trump's push for change in election maps AND ... a president who continues a war without congressional approval. History... will remember this moment, sir.
