@RebeccaRFraser Hi Rebecca.. happy for Sky News to use the footage with credit to @jimmysendrix on X.
Please credit on-air and in any online repost/article versions. Thanks
I was at the Birmingham Swatch x AP launch tonight. It became one of the most dangerous and badly organized product drops I’ve ever seen.
Unmanaged queue, people pushing, security overwhelmed, then police stepped in with pepper spray...

@StringersHub Yes, I filmed this footage myself on May 15, at the @Bullring@Swatch x @AudemarsPiguet launch in Birmingham.

@MikeBlueBoyz@Remy_Ryy@TobyTheTidePod@SwatchUK@Swatch@Bullring Yeah I have absolutely no idea what those security were thinking with anything the tried to do. Why on earth they thought pushing everyone up against those doors was a good idea is beyond me. Were you part of the group that was pushed against the doors?
@T_TradingAsylum@SwatchUK@Swatch@Bullring I’d say at peak there was maybe 300/400 ppl there and then the swatch person said there was only 100 watches on hand… police dispersed crowds and told everyone they’d be arrested if they stayed.. one of the security said they may not even open the shop today now
People were left in a huge, unmanaged queue outside the mall with weak barriers, unclear instructions, and overwhelmed security.
This was not safe. For a brand and shopping centre of this size, the planning looked completely inadequate. @Swatch@AudemarsPiguet@Bullring
I have more footage from before and after police stepped in if any local reporters are covering what happened at Bullring tonight.
