Evaluating the efficacy of ubiquinol in heart failure patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis https://t.co/VyJNeq8a8Z
This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the efficacy of coenzyme-Q10 in improving outcomes in heart failure.
⬇ Pooled analysis of 16 studies demonstrated that coenzyme-Q10 leads to a significant reduction in mortality.
⬆ Coenzyme-Q10 leads to improvement in the exercise capacity.
↔ No significant improvement in ejection fraction.

Indexed apical wall thickness thresholds are highly accurate for detecting apical hypertrophy, than current criteria of 1.5 cm in the patients with classic ekg findings but not meeting the cutoff!
The upper limit of normal (the largest of the 4 apical segments measured) corresponded to a maximum apical thickness in healthy subjects of 5.2 - 5.6 mm/m2 (the unindexed equivalent being 11 mm). This threshold categorized abnormal in 99% over apical HCM and 78% in relative Apical HCM ( positive ekg / Imaging findings not meeting 1.5 cm cutoff)
